For 40 years, Donate Life Connecticut has been dedicated to the cause of raising awareness regarding organ and tissue donation. We are completely self-funded and rely on our fundraising events and the generous donations of people like you to continue the essential work of raising awareness, increasing the number of registered donors, providing education about living donation, and ultimately, helping to save lives. Gentle Strength Transplant Stories
Donate Life Connecticut created a series of photos of donors, recipients, and donor families that tell their beautiful, individual stories. The video is set to Bonnie Raitt's song, “Just Like That,” the Grammy Award-winning Song of the Year. The song was inspired by a news segment Bonnie Raitt saw where a woman donated her son's organs after he passed away. The Mom was preparing to meet the man who received her son's heart. In her song, Raitt sings: “I lay my head upon his chest. And I was with my boy again.”

As a non-profit organization, Donate Life Connecticut relies upon the generosity and support of organ recipients, donor families, healthcare professionals, and every Connecticut citizen over the age of 16 to support our cause in a variety of ways.
Why Be a Donor
Over 100,000 people in the U.S. are waiting for an organ transplant. Unfortunately, many may never get the call saying that a suitable donor organ — and a second chance at life — has been found.
It can be hard to think about what will happen to your body after you die, let alone donating your organs and tissue. But being an organ donor is the most generous decision you can make. Read our FAQ's for more information.
