One of the most meaningful aspects of my medical practice is the relationship I develop with my patients.  Their friendships are truly a gift. Suzy Katz and Jimmy Salatto are two patients I cared for who touched me deeply. Sadly, after courageous struggles, they both died this year.  However, I am inspired by the generous spirit and commitment to philanthropy that their lives represent. 

 

Both Suzy and Jimmy had a strong commitment to family and to their faith, they were optimistic and found joy in life. Suzy with her husband Arthur, and Jimmy, all served as board members at Donate Life CT for many years. They were generous with their time and philanthropic, always looking for ways to give back by helping others struggling with liver disease.

 

In honor of their memories, Karen and I have created the  Susan Katz and James Salatto Memorial Fund to support Donate Life CT.
