Gentle Strength Transplant Stories
Donate Life Connecticut created a series of photos of donors, recipients, and donor families that tell their beautiful, individual stories. The video is set to Bonnie Raitt's song, “Just Like That,” the Grammy Award-winning Song of the Year. The song was inspired by a news segment Bonnie Raitt saw where a woman donated her son's organs after he passed away. The Mom was preparing to meet the man who received her son's heart. In her song, Raitt sings: “I lay my head upon his chest. And I was with my boy again.”
Bonnie Raitt and her team explicitly permitted the use of the music here. We are eternally grateful to her for highlighting the life-saving benefits of organ donation.

Eversource Hartford Marathon
Join Donate Life Connecticut for the 31st running of the Eversource Hartford Marathon
Saturday, October 19, 2024
Donate Life CT is proud to be an Official Charity Partner of the Eversource Hartford Marathon and Half Marathon, and we will be there running strong! We welcome participants to join our team and use their marathon, half marathon, Team 26.2 relay, or Charity 5K as a fundraiser for Donate Life CT. Additionally, any race participant may choose to support our team by adding a charity donation through their registration or donating directly through our fundraising page.
The event has something for the whole family. Run or walk the Charity 5K, volunteer with our group, get a group of 2-5 runners together for the Team 26.2 Relay, run the half marathon or full marathon, and let the kiddos join the action in the HMF FitKids races.
